Sludge Horrors

A bypass oil filter can save you from these horrors. Have a look at the links here:

  1. Sludge – A Case Study
  2. What carbon particles can do to your engine

Read the caption at the bottom of the top picture on the ‘carbon particles’ page … but be prepared to spend a sleepless night!

Note that in the carbon particles blockage article they are recommending that you change the oil every 3,000Km! What is the cost of doing this to the average person who does say 20,000Km annually — 7 oil and oil filter changes? At Kshs 3500 for 5L oil (a decent synthetic oil) and 650/-for a full flow filter this works out at 29,050/-. Now add KShs 2,500/- labour per oil change and you get up to 46,550/- in one year. ALL OF THIS MONEY CAN BE SAVED by fitting a bypass oil filter. That means your filter at current prices will be paid up in just over one year! And after that in year 2 your are still running the same oil and full flow filter!

Beat that!

By the way — if you suspect you are becoming a victim of sludge — DON’T DELAY — call us and we’ll do a free assessment of your engine, remove it if necessary, clean it out and fit a bypass filter for you with brand new oil and full flow oil filter — and your problems will be long gone. Ignore the sludge and you’re engine will suffer the ‘black death’ – all it takes is for a particle of that sludge to find it’s way into one of the many bearing oil ways and you’re engine will knock and then cease necessitating a very expensive repair and you’ll be without your car for a couple of weeks!
